I was born and raised in Grand Cayman, it is my home. I moved to go to boarding school in England 8 years ago. Here the smoking ban has been enabled for years. It has stopped people from going out altogether and those who don't smoke haven't been hugely moved..
I love the fact that i can go for a game of pool or out for dinner and not have to worry about leaving my friends and family to go outside for a cigarette. I know many many people that would be extremely disappointed if a smoking ban was brought around.

My Wife and I have purchased a time share on Grand Cayman and have visited there many times. We are from the eastern United States and I enjoy smoking a fine Cuban cigar after having dinner at some of the most affluent restaurants. I always smoke outside, but if there was a smoking ban and I would no longer be allowed to smoke we would look for another Island to visit.

My husband and I have visited Grand Cayman at least 13 times since 2001 (we've lost count). While it is our favorite Caribbean destination (mainly because of the suberb diving and easy access from Eastern US), the one down side is that smoking has been so prevalent in accommodations and restaurants. This really limits our choices. Having our favorite island go smoke-free would enable us to frequent more restaurants and give us a wider choice in accommodations.
