Hotel and Hospitality Jobs

The tourism and hospitality industry is a major component of the Cayman Islands’ economy. Most jobs are based in Grand Cayman, predominantly in Seven Mile Beach and George Town, with limited opportunities on the sister islands.

Candidates for hotel and hospitality jobs must be willing to work weekends, public holidays, and split shifts. Fluent English is also required.

Some of the most common openings filled by expatriate workers in Cayman’s hotels and restaurants include:

  • Waiters/waitresses – Successful applicants usually have several years’ experience in similar establishments, are team-orientated, and possess excellent guest and communication skills.
  • Chefs – Job openings exist at all levels. Requirements are several years’ work experience and a qualification from a recognised culinary institute.
  • Bartenders – Good knowledge of drinks, proven work experience, plus good customer service skills needed.
  • Restaurant Managers – Candidates must have several years’ experience as a restaurant manager and good communication skills.
  • Hotel Sales Staff – Several years’ relevant customer service/sales experience and a marketing/hospitality degree required.
  • Front Desk Clerks – Applicants must have an outgoing and friendly personality, good customer service skills, and previous hotel customer service experience.

Other positions include nail technicians, beauty therapists, hairdressers, barbers, activity coaches (tennis, golf, diving etc.) and water sports staff. Recognised qualifications and a few years’ work experience are always needed.
