Fund and Investment Management
The majority of the world’s hedge funds are established offshore, and the domicile of choice for most of these is the Cayman Islands. Estimates vary but some estimate the value of Cayman’s hedge funds to be over $1 trillion.
Numerous job openings are available but some of the most common are:
- Fund Accountants – Requirements generally include an internationally recognised accounting qualification. Experience in a similar role is sometimes, but not always required.
- Account Managers – Successful applicants usually possess an accounting qualification and some practical experience of fund accounting.
- Investment Managers – Typical requirements usually include several years’ asset management experience and/or a recognised qualification (CFA, Series 7 etc.).
- Fund Administrators – Previous experience in shareholder services required.
Knowledge of the local regulatory environment and Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance procedures is an advantage.
