Newly/Recently Qualified Accountants
The ‘Big 4’ accountancy firms (Ernst & Young, Deloitte, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers) all have offices in Grand Cayman and are the largest recruiters of newly qualified accountants on the island. Audit clients are predominantly hedge and mutual funds, captive insurance companies, banks, and other offshore financial services companies.
Most newly qualified accountants take a job as an audit senior/senior associate. An internationally recognised accounting qualification plus several years audit experience is a must. Financial services experience is an advantage, but not a requirement.
Contracts are for 2 years with most applicants starting in the autumn.
Experienced Accountants
Positions for qualified accountants with several years experience are diverse and abundant. The ‘Big 4’ firms have frequent job openings for audit mangers and tax specialists (experience of US Internal Revenue Code is an advantage). In the offshore finance industry there are vacancies for fund accountants, internal auditors, financial controllers, analysts, finance managers, corporate recovery/forensic accountants etc.
