A leading Construction contracting company invites suitably qualified Financial Managers to apply for this exciting role within their company.
Duties include:
• Day to day management of account department staff including annual appraisal and recruitment as necessary.
• Relationship building with External financial and Internal financial stakeholders
• Financial Analysis
• Contribution to developing and implementing strategic direction for company
• Supervise preparation of AP ledger, AR ledger, Payroll ledger, Inventory ledger and order entry ledger and maintenance thereof.
• Calculate and account for depreciation of assets on a monthly basis and prepare necessary depreciation journal entries for capture in Accpac.
• Supervision of monthly bank reconciliations and checking that all control accounts are square including sales ledger, purchase ledger, IVA account, IRPS, INSS and Modelo E.
• Supervise monthly statutory returns.
• Manage company debt collection and credit control.
• Preparation of annual accounts files for auditors and oversee drafting of statutory accounts.
• Management of external accountants, auditors and other professional service providers relating to the company’s financial affairs
• Manage the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements
• Assist GM with effective communication/ reporting of company’s financial performance to the company stakeholder making best use of information technology.
• Oversee the finalization of annual returns by the company’s statutory accountants.
• Review bi-monthly manual cash flow plan.
• Prepare monthly management accounts

• Management and development of systems and procedures to ensure integrity of accounting information and safe custody of assets, including procedures to eliminate and detect fraud or theft of company assets.
• Develop and implement daily operational financial controls at head office and on various sites, including accounting, reconciliations and payments
• Co-ordinate annual preparation of detailed financial budgets and cashflows
Requirements:
• An Accounting Qualification from a recognized Tertiary institution
• IFRS experience
• Audit experience
• Mozambican accounting experience
• Essential for the candidate to be able to Read, Write & Speak Portuguese
• Essential for the candidate to be able to Read, Write, Speak English
• Experience with Accpac Small Business Edition
• Experience in construction accounting and financial management
• Attention to detail, but also looking for a more strategic role – involved in the broader aspects of the business including IT and legal
• Computer literacy
• The aptitude to communicate at all levels i.e. financial stakeholders including accountants, bankers, lawyers and tax authorities
