Currency
The legal tender is the Cayman Islands dollar. There are 100 cents to the dollar. The Cayman Islands dollar is exchanged at a rate fixed to the US dollar (CI $1 = US $1.25).
Notes come in denominations of 100, 50, 25, 10, 5 and 1 Cayman Island dollars. There are 25, 10, 5 and 1 cent coins.
There is no need to change US dollars on arrival. They are accepted everywhere. Change may be given in US or Caymanian currency.
ATM’s
The Cayman National Bank has ATM’s throughout the island. Cash can be withdrawn in US or Cayman Islands dollars. Locations include:

- Foster’s Strand
- Buckingham Square
- Edward Street
- Cayman National Building
- Foster’s Airport
- Owen Roberts International Airport
- Texaco Star Mart (Savannah)
- Texaco Star Mart (Walkers Road)
Costs
Most goods are imported and consequently cost around 25% more than the same product in the US.
