Atlantis Adventures
Atlantis Adventures offer several different tours:
Atlantis XI Submarine Tour
The Atlantis XI submarine carries 48 passengers and was specifically designed for underwater excursions. The tour begins at Atlantis Adventures’ dock where passengers board a ferry that transfers them to the submarine a short distance away.
Once onboard, the vessel begins its descent to Grand Cayman’s Underwater Marine Park. The Atlantis XI is air-conditioned, reasonably spacious and has large windows. On the tour you’re quite likely to see huge barrel sponges, corals and possibly even the occasional turtle or stingray.
The tour lasts 1½ hours with around 45 minutes spent underwater. Children are welcome provided they are at least 3 feet tall.
Seaworld Explorer
The Seaworld Explorer is a semi-submarine (read glass-bottomed boat) that actually first saw service on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Throughout the 1 hour tour passengers are seated in an air-conditioned underwater glass observatory and will see the wrecks of Cali and the Balboa. The tour also stops at Cheeseburger Reef where a diver exits the vessel and feeds the tropical fish that gather here.
Kayak Adventure
This tour allows visitors to explore some of Grand Cayman’s coastal environments by kayak. The tour takes in secluded shorelines, inlets, mangrove and bird nesting areas. The whole tour lasts around 3 hours but includes stops for rest, swimming and snorkelling (water, snacks and snorkelling equipment are provided).
The tour is open to children aged 8 or older. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
All tours depart from the company’s office, located just south of the Cruise Ship Terminal, opposite the Hard Rock Café.
