Video – Green Moray Eel
Saturday, March 28th, 2009This is a video of a Green Moray Eel, shot while diving in Grand Cayman.
The Green Moray Eel (Gymnothorax funebris) is actually brown. Protective yellow mucus covering its body, combined with its brown body, gives it a green colour.
Morays have a reputation as vicious creatures, but will actually only attack humans to defend themselves.
The Green Moray Eel is carnivorous and feeds on other fish, molluscs, and crustaceans. It is a sedentary predator and will normally wait for food, rather than hunt (although at Stingray City, the Green Moral Eel may seek out divers with food).

It includes good footage of a shark, Moray eels, and sea turtles.
