It manages a number of sites and attractions in Grand Cayman including:

• Fort George (George Town) – ruins of an 18th century fort
• Governor Michael Gore Bird Sanctuary – 2 acre site with freshwater pond and walkways, over a quarter of all bids species native to the Cayman Islands can be seen here
Mastic Trail – nature trail
Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park – Caymanian flora
• Mission House (Bodden Town) – one of Grand Cayman’s oldest houses
• Old Savannah School House – example of a one-room schoolhouse, common in the first half of the 20th century


Video – Skate Cayman summer camp

Skate Cayman is a summer camp being at Black Pearl in Grand Cayman, one of the world’s largest skate parks in the world.

The camp commenced on June 8 and will run until August 21 2009. Tutors include Shaun White plus other famous professional skateboarders.

The camp is open to children aged 4 to 18 (4 to 6 year olds must be accompanied by parents). Weekly and daily passes are available and all equipment and refreshments are included.

Video – Coe Wood Public Beach

This government video explains how the Coe Wood Public Beach will be developed over the next few months.

The beach is located in Bodden Town. The enhancements are part of the government’s Go East initiative, a project to spur economic growth beyond George Town, West Bay, and Seven Mile Beach.

Facilities planned include kiosks housing small businesses, toilets, dock, and car parking.

This excellent high definition video shows the wide variety of marine life that can be seen while diving in Grand Cayman.

The footage includes a shark, sea turtle, spotted eagle ray, and the stingrays at Stingray City. The colours and quality are fabulous.

This video was shot on a cruise ship shore excursion to Stingray City in Grand Cayman.

The tour guide lifts the stingray from the water and you can clearly see:

• the eyes on the dorsal side
• the mouth and nostrils on its underbelly
• the tail and barbs – primarily used for protection

The Southern Atlantic Stingray is the species found at Stingray City.
