Cayman Islands National Museum

Note: The museum was severely damaged during Hurricane Ivan in 2004 and has been closed to the public since then. Repairs are currently underway.

A visit the Cayman Islands National Museum is a great way to learn about the history and culture of the islands and their people. The museum is housed in the Old Courts Building in George Town, not far from the Cruise Ship Terminal. This building is in fact one of the few remaining 19th century buildings in Grand Cayman and has been put to various uses over its life including courthouse, town jail and meeting hall. Today it contains over 2,000 artefacts relevant to the islands culture and history.
