Butterfly Farm

Note: The Butterfly Farm closed in October 2009. We have kept this listing online so any readers searching for it are aware of this.

The Butterfly Farm is one of Grand Cayman’s newest and most popular attractions. Butterflies from all over the world roam free amongst tropical gardens and waterfalls. Wear bright colours and perfume or aftershave if you want the butterflies to land on you.

It’s located on the Harquail Bypass, close to the cinema.

I was looking the farm up as we are preparing to go to GC and wanted to go back there for my 3rd visit. My kids will be so upset. What a big loss.

Just arrived in Cayman today 7/17/2010 at 10pm. Talked all the way from Dallas about the beautiful Butterfly Farm. Now it's Sunday and it's not opened so i have to wait until Monday.
Sunday evening we went to eat at CIMBUCA and my daughter said Abi look, there's Bubba's Butterfly Farm. WELL I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT AND REALLY STILL CAN'T 2 HRS LATER.
GONE. HOW VERY VERY SAD. THIS WAS A TREAT FOR ME AND SOMETHING I LOOKED FORWARD TO EVERY YEAR. ALL I COULD SAY IS THAT I THANK GOD I HAVE OVER 500 PICTURES OF MY BUTTERFLIES AND MOTHS, TREE FROGS AND ALL THOSE BEAUTIFUL PLANTS AND FLOWERS. BUTTERFLY FARM, I MUST SAY THIS. CAYMAN ISN'T CAYMAN ANYMORE WITHOUT YOU.
THANKS FOR THE MANY MOMENTS OF CALMNESS, BEAUTY, AND PEACE. IF ANYONE WHO FEELS LIKE I DO WE CAN TALK BY EMAIL. bubba4@att ...

We went to the farm in 2008 and it was probably our favorite place on the island! Now (June 2010) we have just returned from GC and yes... it is gone. We were really looking forward to seeing it again. What a loss for the island. It was one of the most beautiful things we have ever seen. We will miss it.

It is true. Just came from the vacant building. It is gone. A man I spoke to said he has been here for 9 months and it was gone when he arrived. I have not been able to find out what happened. It was one of, if not the most anticipated parts of our vacation. We will miss it greatly.

Just got back to GC and the first place we stopped at after renting our car was there and see it is deserted. What happened? Why did it close? We were so lucky to have seen it last year and made wonderful pictures, video and poster of our visit. This was a highlight of our visit last year and it's very sad that it is gone.

So sad to hear about this. I wanted to go this year and take my son. Too bad.

How sad. We enjoyed, and learned so much, from many wonderful visits to the Butterfly Farm over the years. Not having it in Grand Cayman will leave a gaping hole in our vacation.
